Free music programme for 18-25 year olds
Starting this October, The Terrace is home to Amp Up, a free weekly programme for young people (18–25) who are into music or event management, starting on Wednesday 14th October.
You’ll learn from local industry professionals and get trained up to plan and deliver your own event, with a real budget and full creative control!
- 🎧 How to DJ — setting up decks, building setlists, mixing tips
- 🎤 Write your first song — from idea to recording on your phone
- 🔊 Sound, lighting and tech fundamentals
- 📣 Live music promotion, branding and marketing
- 🎶 Performance technique and stage presence
- 💼 The practical stuff — freelancing, setting up a CIC, understanding tax
- 🤝 One-to-one mentoring with working music professionals
Who can come
Anyone aged 18–25 from in and around Dewsbury who’s into music. No experience or equipment needed. It’s free, it includes food, and everyone’s welcome.

Sessions run weekly (term time) from Wednesday 14 October 2026, 6pm – 8pm at The Terrace, Dewsbury until Summer 2027
