Dewsbury Music Foundation

Our aim at The Terrace is not only to bring in big acts that you wouldn’t usually see in towns like Dewsbury, but to support and provide a platform for local musicians. We are very proud to partner with Dewsbury Music Foundation (DMF) – a musician-led collective focused on organising live music events, sharing gigs between bands, and supporting grassroots venues in Dewsbury and the surrounding areas.

“We work collaboratively to create fair, inclusive shows where artists are paid transparently, and the local music scene can thrive. We run this as a not-for-profit collective.

We grew out of a long-standing commitment to championing the local music scene. I’ve always believed in supporting and promoting musicians in our area, and through conversations with other like-minded musicians and band members, the idea naturally developed into a collective. Together, we formed DMF to collaborate, share opportunities, and strengthen the local live music community.”

John Hetherington

Guitarist, vocalist, and member of Mundi Club and Just John. Solo acoustic musician and local music promoter with a long-standing commitment to championing the local scene.

Thomas Lockwood

Guitarist, bassist, vocalist, and member of Reight Twang. A huge supporter of grassroots gigs, natural networker, and a quietly effective promoter.

James Lee

Multi-instrumentalist involved in numerous projects including Adore//Repel, The River & I, Agoniser, Even the Blood’s Fake, and Wwars. Owner of Shoveitupyourcult Recording Studio; producer, writer, director, and music teacher.

Ruby Jones

Keyboardist and vocalist for The Exotic Ices Project, previously of Big Rooster Jeff. Documentation specialist and video journalist.

Matt “Chops” Thompson

Saxophonist and bass player, member of Reight Twang, and dedicated supporter of the local music scene.

Josh Harrop

Guitarist for Rillington Place and mixed martial artist with a strong passion for supporting local music.

Ant Dilworth

Singer and high-energy frontman of Rillington Place. A passionate advocate and promoter of fellow bands on the scene.

Chris Hall

Guitarist and vocalist of Zapiain, Geoffrey Oi!Cott and supporter of the local music scene.

James Preston

Guitarist and vocalist for El Toro Loco. Sound engineer, long-serving grassroots workhorse, and all-round good guy.

Chris Mitchell

Bassist and vocalist for El Toro Loco. Hardcore supporter of the local scene and generous spreader of musical love.

Ryan Spendlove

Solo acoustic singer-songwriter and member of Pleasurefields. A familiar face across countless venues and events throughout the area.
