Yorkshire’s up and coming live music venue

The Terrace has a rapidly growing reputation as one of the best venues for live music events in Yorkshire. With a capacity of just 100, this small venue creates BIG events in terms of its energy and immersive experience. This is by design; we have been working hard to bring in amazing acts – some local up and coming and some huge international stars – and charging fair ticket prices (in fact, many events are free) so that everyone can access live music and we can support talent.

We’re hosting events spanning all genres from blues, jazz, and indie bands to house and drum n bass DJ sets. We are particularly becoming known for dance and electronic music, with acts like Utah Saints, The Secret DJ, Allister Whitehead, Dave Beer, and Jeremy Healy performing here.

But we’re not just about bringing big names to Dewsbury. We collaborate closely with local initiatives, including the DMF collective and Kirklees Most Wanted, to shine a spotlight on fresh Yorkshire talent.

What the artists say…

amazing night

I’d like to give a massive thank you to the Dewsbury massive for making me and everyone in our crew feel welcome. It was an amazing night, great hospitality and a first for me when you turn up looking for the venue lost and then you see that the entire front of the building is branded with your own ugly mug up there and your name up in lights. You know you’ve made it LOL.

Big loves, house music all night long ❤️

better vibe

I got a bit of mockery for playing small venues, but it is not just highly intentional it is incredibly rewarding. I’ve frequently posted writings by myself and others about the decay of the UK music scene, so you have to put your money where your mouth is and go out there and support UK small venues. And it is always a better vibe, and it is always a more enjoyable experience than the mega gaffs. What we do was always supposed to be about a basement, a red light and a strobe.

So I don’t feel anything but pride when a local paper speaks to a budding new small venue about how excited they are about me and my mates working with them. Rather have one of these than ten festivals frankly. Give me the Dewsbury Reporter over the Guardian any day.

the best vibes

Thank you to everybody who came out to see us last night at The Terrace for what was an great night. An intimate setting with the best vibes. This was our 3rd time doing this gig which has become a staple part of the calendar for us. It’s important for DJs and bands to get out there and into the smaller towns and support independent venues. Big thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome and your hospitality. 🙏😎❤️

Hush is The Terrace’s exclusive ‘secret nightclub’.

Subscribers get access to pre-sales, discounts, and early news about events. For some events, being a Hush member is the only way to get a ticket; if we sell out in the pre-sale, tickets never make it to general sale and with a capacity of just 100, is it worth the risk of missing out?

You have to be in the know to know. Join now for all these benefits and more.
